To be fair to the top-dollar games, Valve puts Global Offensive on sale (and it's cheap!) more often than most of us boot up our computers, so it goes without saying that it automatically has a great chance of selling well. But "selling well" is an understatement: it sold a staggering 5.6 million copies in 2015 alone - and that's just since SteamSpy began tracking the activations in April. Grand Theft Auto V, which many were eagerly awaiting on a PC release for, sold 3.6 million. I think Rockstar will be pleased with that extra few hundred million in its pockets. The fourth installment in the Counter-Strike franchise, according to IGN, has climbed all the way to the top of Steam's most-played game. Last October 20th over 10.7 million players were logged into steam concurrently playing games offered by the service. While the record for steam surpasses the 10 million record hit last June, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive turned out to be the most played steam title. It was followed by two Steam's free-to-play games Dota 2 and Team Fortress.Valve has never been against trading, but it looks like this aspect—the proverbial back alleys and sketchy parking garages of the practice—was irking them. I've reached out to Valve for official comment, but they've yet to reply. I'll update this post when/if they do. It’s Christmas list season and it’s possible that if you have children or a tech-loving adult in your household, one of them will have cheekily requested a new games console. You may even be thinking of buying one for yourself so that you can steadfastly avoid festive television. After Redline began his project, word spread and the community started to come back. Within a week of launching, he had 1,500 subscriptions. As the mod grew, it switched from being a Counter-Strike mod to an Insurgency mod, a move that gave Redline a better base to work from. New players send him messages that read like they’ve found the promised land. A few claim to be moved to tears. One player told PC Gamer that he’s seen lifelong console gamers build or buy a PC just to play SOCOM online again.Right now, the mod is moving through alpha and approaching a beta release early next year. The biggest change, the switch in perspective from first person to third person, is in place and stable. The coming weeks will see new competitive features and more maps added. At the mechanical level, though, the game already feels like SOCOM. “It is the [mod] on the market that is the closest to the original SOCOM games,” Mike, one of the active community members, told PC Gamer. “A few more tweaks to the gameplay, mainly the animations, and this mod will be as true to original SOCOM gameplay.”
As crazy as 0.64% might sound, which equates to one out of every 200 cases, obtaining a knife is brutally rare, sitting at 0.16%. That means you aren't likely to see a knife unless you open roughly 625 cases! And if you're hoping for a StatTrak variant of an item, then good luck. You're only going to see StatTrak on an item once in a blue moon, estimated to be somewhere around 10% of the time for a given item. Our weeks-old, St. Louis -based CS:GO server has hosted lively Steam events about twice a week. We run custom maps exclusively because the community has somehow produced 1,000 of them for CS:GO since adding Steam Workshop support last month. I earmarked my early favorites in February, but new favorites have already emerged, like the cs_sauna remake.
In 2006 the Unlawful Internet Enforcement Act made some sweeping changes, but left a noticeable grey area. Specifically it “…prohibits gambling businesses from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in a bet or wager that involves the use of the internet and that’s unlawful under any federal state or law.”A very small percentage of players ever get lucky enough to earn back their investment."I found someone selling a bayonet for $60," he tells me. "Around the same time I discovered CS:GO Lounge, where I now do most of my trading. I try to factor things in other traders sometimes don't -- the biggest of which is demand.""All the bad press that this brought and the major hit the image of an otherwise respectable brand took was too much," Grust writes. "Sponsors and partners with whom we were about to sign understandably backed out of deals, not wanting to be associated with a company that had just been tarnished. Needless to say, our budget for 2015 had gone up in smoke from one day to another."It has not been a strong few weeks for the CS:GO dev team. I reported on Friday that the Winter Update's maligned R8 revolver had been nerfed after only three days—obscene stopping power and pinpoint accuracy for its price had effectively killed eco rounds. Now, Valve has rolled back the accompanying tweaks to pistols and rifles, stating "we likely changed too much too quickly".
This is the daunting proposition of an eco round in CS:GO, when your team collectively decides to fight on a budget so it can afford a full complement of gear in the next round. As one of the regular hurdles of competitive play, mastering the eco round is an important part of winning. Here's how I try to make the best of an economic disadvantage. I think the tools - especially Unity - are great. I've been working with Unity, and it's just a dream to work with. It's just so easy to make a game on that thing. It's definitely got to the point where making mods in general has become so accessible to the average gamer. I remember making mods on the Half Life 1 engine, and I remember how difficult it was to just get a mod going. It made it a very exclusive set skill. Now in this day and age, anyone can make a mod.But it’s one thing for the people in the business of marketing the new Windows to paint an idyllic picture of the DirectX 12 landscape. The question is whether those promises will hold up in reality. To answer that, we talked to several game developers, graphics engineers, and computer scientists about what they really think of DirectX 12, and what they think will happen when it’s released into the broader PC gaming ecosystem.
The iSeries takes place over the 30th November to the 3rd December.2015 was a massive year for gaming, with a handful of games being deserving of "Game of the Year" awards. Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are two top-rated titles that will jump to most people's minds, although there are others that have proven to be quite popular as well, such as Rocket League. And speaking of Rocket League, would you believe that it sold almost twice as many copies as CD Projekt RED's Witcher 3?
The right trackpad on the Steam Controller is configured to a 1:1 view control mode allowing you to move your thumb on the pad to translate it into movements on the screen. The left pad on the controller has been configured to be used as a D-Pad where the normal directions of movement have been mapped to the AWSD keys on your keyboard. But het configuration can be reversed if preferred.Counter Strike: Global Offensive will hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 21 August for $14.99 (around ￡10-￡12) and will have a public beta, Valve has confirmed.Joining the R8 in the Winter Update is the Killer Replay feature, which allows you to relive your deaths from your opponent's perspective in Demolition and Casual modes. Given that this will force me to confront how many deaths are my own damn fault, I'm not entirely thrilled.A recent Bloodborne preview revealed it has a smaller number of weapons than fans of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls have come to expect.Another weapons smuggler tells me that gambling is a huge part of the CS:GO gunrunning experience, and once you grow accustomed to it, can put you at a huge financial advantage. Some betting occurs within the game, as you pay small amounts of cash to open weapons cases that could potentially contain an expensive, rare weapon... or quite the opposite. However, there's also a whole additional level of gambling that's hiding below the surface.Bets can be made through the CS:GO Lounge, allowing you to risk the weapons currently in your inventory against upcoming official CS:GO tournament matches. As you'd expect, the more expensive the weapons you place into the bet, the more payoff you're going to get back. Betting involves accepting a Steam trade from a bot, giving it the weapons you want to bet, and then trusting that if you win the bet, it'll give you them back along with your winnings. Of course, if you lose the bet, don't expect to hear from the bot again. When it was introduced the new weapon was likened to a mini, and much cheaper, AWP. It was accurate on the move and could cause significant amounts of damage, much higher than the AWP in some cases. A longer trigger pull was supposed to offset the powerful damage, but that wasn’t the case in reality. Matches became frustrating as long-range shots took out you and most of your team before you could even play the objective.
"As CS:GO grows, it’s important to consider the substantial impact an individual professional Counter-Strike player has on the health and stability of their sport," it wrote. "Performing before an audience of millions of fans, they are ambassadors for their game – the strength of professional Counter-Strike comes from the integrity of its players and teams."The ESL, which recently announced a $250,000 prize pool for the upcoming CS:GO Katowice 2015 tournament, confirmed on Reddit that it would uphold the ban. "Like the blog post said, none of these players will be able to participate or contribute in any other form to ESL One Katowice or future Majors run by us, and we are currently finalising our verdict regarding other ESL leagues and these players," ESL rep theflyingdj wrote. "We do not have any tolerance for match fixing, have always made clear in our rules that players are not to be involved with any kind of betting and will continue to work on a clean and fair competitive environment for CS:GO."ʏһҳúcounterstrike cs go
